Student Well-Being and Resilience
May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Our emotional health is a critical component of overall wellness. Listen to our SIUE SOP students share a powerful message to raise awareness and decrease stigma! We encourage you to continue the conversation: https://youtu.be/Bz-lpMnzdJE
Embrace the Promotion of Well-Being and Enhance Resiliency (ePower)
Well-being is an important aspect of everyone’s lives and is strongly linked to physical health, happiness, and life satisfaction! Well-being integrates both mental and physical wellness, allowing for a more balanced life. SIUE School of Pharmacy is committed to the mental wellness and overall well-being of our pharmacy community.
We recognize that the demands of pharmacy education and work as a health professional can be stressful and challenging at times, but also that high amounts of stress can lead to problems including anxiety and burnout. Sometimes it may be difficult to prioritize self-care. Our hope is that the Embrace the Promotion of Well-Being and Enhance Resiliency (ePower) initiative offers the SIUE pharmacy community many different opportunities to grow and strengthen wellness, allowing you to become more self-aware and versatile pharmacy professionals. The Wellness Event Calendar (to be released the end of August) lists events to promote wellness, reduce anxiety, or are just nice events to reduce stress and take a break from school or work.
Wellness Wednesdays are events that promote wellness, reduce anxiety, or just provide an outlet to reduce stress and take a break from school/work. Each Wellness Wednesday event is hosted by a Student Organization. Wellness Wednesdays are scheduled during common hour on the 3rd Wednesday (typically) of each month.
