Pharmacists have a vital role in the delivery of high quality, affordable and accessible healthcare that people and communities need for their health and well-being. As the only pharmacy school located in downstate Illinois, the SIUE School of Pharmacy is the leading provider of the highly competent, contributing and caring pharmacy professionals who are advancing pharmacy education, practice, research and service for the benefit of patients in the region. A major focus for the School is drug design and discovery in areas related to pain management, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and anti-infectives. Other significant research include diabetes, cancer, drug delivery and stability, pharmacogenomics, health outcomes and health literacy. Contributions to the SIUE School of Pharmacy make a difference in preparing the next generation of pharmacy leaders and meeting the diverse health care needs of people, businesses and communities in our region, state and nation. We invite you to learn more about and consider supporting one or more of the SIUE School of Pharmacy’s top funding needs and priorities.
- School of Pharmacy (General) Development Needs (Fund# 3950) Gifts support student and faculty professional development, alumni relations and events, and the School's participation in important annual meetings and conferences for pharmacy practices in clinical and retail settings.
- Student Annual and Endowed Scholarships Awards (Fund # 7204 & Various Others) Gifts directly support talented and deserving students and make a difference in their lives and careers, while advancing the pharmacy profession and patient-care in our region and beyond. Our goal is to double the number and total amount of scholarships awarded to students each year.
- Global Education Experiences (Fund # 3609) Gifts support the formation of global partnerships and the provision of international education experiences for pharmacy students, which is an important strategic priority for our School. These experiences have a transformative impact on student's multi-cultural awareness, understanding and competency, and in the ability to meet the health care needs of diverse populations and communities in our regions, nation and world. Gifts cover the cost of student travel, lodging and meals to countries that currently include Costa Rica, Guatemala, India and Jamaica.
- Diversity and Outreach Programs (Fund # 3953) Gifts and grants help our School foster diversity and inclusion within our program, and enhance the development of pipeline and recruiting initiatives to achieve a more diverse body in the pharmacy program.
- Dean’s Leadership Society (Fund # 3952) Gifts support the following emerging strategic priorities:
- Clinical Training Center Enhancements: Gifts provide state-of-the-art technology for the new clinical training facility. The CTC offers students the opportunity to experience practical application of the knowledge they have attained, and to advance student, pharmacy practice and patient outcomes.
- Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences : Gifts provide opportunities for students and faculty by updating research equipment and supplies. The Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences leverages faculty strengths to broaden areas of research, and adds emerging career options for students while raising the prominence and profile of our School.
- "Connie Stamper-Carr Endowed PharmD Scholarship" (Fund #8417) Alumni from SIUE School of Pharmacy led a successful campaign to establish an endowed scholarship that would honor Connie Stamper-Carr, Retired Director of Student Affairs, in perpetuity for her contributions to the success of their personal and professional lives, and futures. Gifts support scholarships for PharmD students who have participated in volunteer and service related activities that assist in recruitment, retention, and /or student welfare in the School of Pharmacy.
