Involvement Opportunities
As a member of a fraternity or sorority, there are several ways to become more involved and become a leader in the community.
Chapter and Governing Council Leadership
You can become involved by holding a position of leadership in your chapter or on the executive boards of the Interfraternity Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council, Panhellenic Council, or United Greek Council. Members of these councils participate in the Fraternity/Sorority Leadership Summit in January to develop their leadership skills, and have the opportunity to attend national leadership conferences, such as AFLV Central.
Circle of Sisterhood
In spring 2016, the Panhellenic Council officially adopted Circle of Sisterhood as their philanthropic partner. In spring 2017, the Interfraternity Council also adopted Circle of Sisterhood as their philanthropic partner. For more information about how you can support the Circle of Sisterhood at SIUE, please contact the Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Council.
About the Circle of Sisterhood Foundation
Mission - The Circle of Sisterhood will leverage the collective influence of sorority women to raise financial resources for entities around the world that are removing educational barriers for girls and women facing poverty and oppression.
Vision - Making education a reality for girls and women around the world.
The Cause - For too many girls and women around the world, access to quality education is often limited. More than 60 million girls are out of school around the globe. Education is an answer to many of the global issues related to women – poverty, oppression, misogyny, brutality. Ultimately, more and more educated girls will mean stronger and healthier villages, communities and entire countries.
Fraternity and Sorority Life Alternative Spring Break
Fraternity and Sorority Life Alternative Spring Break is an annual service trip each spring semester. A group of fraternity and sorority members travels to a community in the United States to engage in a service immersion experience. Past trips have included Asheville, North Carolina (2017) and Biloxi, Mississippi (2016).
Greek Week Steering Committee
